Support Our Work
Each year Groundwork, nationally, generates more than £100 million to deliver practical regeneration projects in the country’s most deprived neighbourhoods.
This money is secured from a variety of sources including the UK Government and devolved assemblies, local authorities, the private sector, charitable trusts, the European Union, the National Lottery and from individual legacies and donations.
Groundwork currently receives a core grant from the Department for Communities & Local Government. The majority of this grant is distributed to Groundwork Trusts to support the development and delivery of local projects. A proportion is used to contribute to the costs of Groundwork UK’s national and regional teams in England. The value of this Government contribution is that both Groundwork UK and Groundwork Trusts are able to use it to raise additional resources, ensuring that the organisation delivers value for money and that projects are integrated with other local, regional and national strategies.
For every £1 we receive we are able to generate on average a further £3 from other sources. That means any contribution you make, large or small, is worth much more than the original sum donated.
We are grateful to all those who support our work. However, it is vital that we continue to secure funding so that we can continue improving the quality of life of the individuals and communities we serve.
Become a Corporate Supporter
Partnership with the private sector was a founding principle of the first Groundwork Trust in 1981. It remains equally strong today. More than 100 companies currently support us at national, regional or local level.
As our network of local Trusts has developed, the number, range
and depth of our corporate partnerships have flourished too. These
partnerships take a variety of forms: sponsorship; donations;
gifts-in-kind (including secondments, employee volunteering and
materials); and our environmental business services activity.
Our projects tackle a broad range of 'cause' issues including:
community safety, crime prevention, economic regeneration,
environmental education, environmental management, healthy living,
restoration of derelict land, safe play, social exclusion,
sustainable transport, and unemployment.
Make a Donation
We can ensure that your money gets to where it is most needed and that it supports projects of most interest to you. Groundwork is a federation of 50 local charities co-ordinated by a national charity. This means you can give either locally or nationally to a charity working for deprived communities. Every donation, however big or small, can make a real difference to people's lives.
Or why not help to ensure that future generations can benefit from a good quality environment by remembering us in your will.
Here are some examples of ways your money could help :
- £200 would pay for a recycled plastic seating area for parents to watch their children play in safety.
- £1,000 would fund an artist to work with a local group or school to help them create a piece of community art.
- £3,000 would enable Groundwork to create a sensory garden filled with scented herbs and vibrant flowers for elderly and disabled people.
- £8,000 would pay for a wheelchair friendly roundabout to enable disabled children to have as much fun as able-bodied kids.
- £25,000 would pay for a youth worker to build bridges
with young people, helping them to play a responsible role in their
communities.
