Home 2 Hub
A number major schemes such as upgrading of railway lines, construction of new routes or re-location of bus stations are proposed or currently underway in the South East. These will help regional transport hubs across the region to be more accessible by public transport.

The central concept of the ‘Home to Hub’ programme is to carry out a series of well targeted practical projects around these hubs to improve access for local people, supported by community consultation, partnership building and research.
Four particular hubs across the region have been chosen for this programme, although it is hoped that many of the findings and practises will be transferable. The chosen local areas reflect the contrasting characters of the SE Region, covering the Thames Valley, Thames Gateway and Solent. They also cover different types of Hub, including International air travel (Heathrow), International sea travel (Portsmouth), International rail travel (Ebbsfleet) and an economic regeneration centre (Chatham).
Home to Hub is jointly funded by SEEDA, Groundwork and local funding. The first part of the programme has just been completed, which has included evidence gathering, partnership building and delivery of pilot projects in the four local areas.
