Our Mission Statement:
Groundwork delivers tangible community regeneration and environmental improvements across the South East
Area of Expertise
Our projects are delivered by professional staff with expertise in six key areas:
- Community development workers - building stronger neighbourhoods
- Landscape architects - reconnecting people with their surroundings
- Employment and training practitioners - delivering skills and helping people find work
- Education practitioners - supporting sustainable schools and delivering learning and citizenship in and out of the classroom
- Business advisers - helping organisations prosper by managing their impact on the environment
- Youth workers - helping young people realise their potential.
Our Work
In the year 2007 - 2008 we:
- Improved 140 hectares of public open space
- Maintained a further 670 hectares of public open space
- Mobilised young volunteers to give 19,300 days of their time
- Encouraged adults to volunteer 18,723 days of their time Involved 472 schools
- Worked with 184 businesses Created 56 jobs
- Provided 1190 training weeks Delivered 310 projects
